Prisoners Ex 2025 Letter
Thank you for looking at my letter :3
General likes
- whump and hurt/comfort. I prefer action-heavy whump and badass whumpees over whump that leans heavily into victimisation and helplessness
- Relationships forged in fire, bonding over trauma, codependency, friendships and romantic/sexual relationships hard to categorise in terms of whether they're a good thing or not. Relationships as questionable coping mechanisms. When characters can't quite say what they are to each other except "someone important"!
- Relationships turning on a dime: When strangers turn to allies, or the person you can barely stand becomes the only one you can trust, or when circumstances change dramatically and you see someone in a brand new context, in a brand new light, or something changes and you question whether you ever really knew this person at all.
- Dramatic, adrenaline-fuelled, high-stakes action. Characters in danger!
- plotty Gen fic, missionfic, casefic, pre-slash or pre-relationship, slow-burn vibes
- sex scenes: not quite explicit but all about the vulnerability/emotions
- UST-ridden scenes that are only metaphorically sexual (e.g. reaching inside someone's mechanical parts to repair them...!)
- The Eroticism of the Machine(TM), wireplay, robots, androids, cyborgs, etc...
- non-sexual intimacy
- intimacy that is sexual but not directly about sex (e.g. pillow talk, lazy mornings after)
- competency kink, identity kink, trust kink
- fluff with a touch of grimness or bittersweetness
- cloak-and-dagger, cat-and-mouse, spies, secrets
- wild nature, birds, rats, creepy crawlies, Cool Plants
- the aesthetic of ruin and tangled industrial locales
Prisoner scenario likes
- "Less is more" is a very good motto with me when it comes to descriptions of pain, torture, suffering, etc.
- Psychological pressure, the depersonalisation of being completely in someone else's power. Show me the coping mechanisms in the prisoner, and show me those coping buckle and crack under the strain! :)
- On that note, I'm a sucker for various "white torture" methods, especially solitary confinement, sleep deprivation, disorientation. Methods that pit the prisoner's mind against them and wear down their sense of self
- On a more physically brutal note, beatings and waterboarding or water-dunking are great (don't quote me on this)
- Environments that are hostile in the sterile and impersonal way - being not just at the mercy of another person, but of the system, and the power that person represents
- I would prefer no actual noncon in the story, but it's fine if it's acknowledged and seen as a threat
General DNWs
Explicit rating, gore, noncon, heavy crying in the context of physical whump, kidfic, noncanonical incest or underage, pregnancy of POV characters, focus on needles or surgery (especially cutting and IVs), focus on IRL modern era geopolitics, eye horror/trauma
NSFW DNWs
Omegaverse, scat, watersports, bloodplay, rimming, fisting, stuffing, noncon (dubcon A-okay!), most kinks that would fall under degradation or humiliation (I would not consider light submissive behaviour to be this), bottoming angst as a major part of the story
Art likes
I like all kinds of different art styles, from realistic to stylised to pixel art. I love dramatic poses, contrasting colours, hair, flying cloaks and coattails, wings...
Art DNWs
Explicit rating, eye horror, needles and things going into skin
NSFW likes
I prefer levels of explicit detail typical for the M rating!
I am less interested in specific kinks and more interested in whatever makes for a scene that is sensual, emotional, and/or full of vulnerability for the given set of characters! I also really enjoy it when characters are conflicted about what they're doing or who they're doing it with! :) I also love delayed gratification, tension being drawn out, and things getting interrupted just as they're getting heavy! :) I love light BDSM dynamics, preferably not very formalised, or only formalised if it's in-character and fits the setting (I leave this to your judgement!). I enjoy characters having very incomplete or imperfect understandings of sex or their own preferences, and sex scenes that are in great part about exploration. I also like the "consensual but not safe or sane" trope.
DNW clarifications
- Gore: I welcome actiony whump and beating the characters up, putting them within an inch of death, etc. I just don't want movie R-rated Tarantino-style gore.
- Kidfic: Flashbacks are fine, characters thinking about their time as kids is fine, characters thinking about being or having children is fine. What I don't want is the fairly specific fic type where adult characters are turned into kids (transformation or "what if all the blorbos were toddlers"-type AUs), or fics that are about acquiring a child and taking care of them. Baby goats are fine and absolutely encouraged within the bounds of plot-appropriateness. (/Battleship joke)
- Focus on surgery and needles: Needles or surgery appearing in the story are fine (and often hard to avoid given I sometimes request doctors, etc.!) Mentions of people getting shots or being dosed with something are fine. Someone being threatened with a needle or surgery is fine. I just don't want detailed descriptions of *shudder* needles sliding into skin, plungers depressing, skin being cut open, tattoos being applied, things like that. It may be helpful to think of this DNW as DNW Detailed Descriptions of Invasive Things Happening to Skin On-Page.
- Focus on IRL modern era geopolitics: Having it be in the backdrop or part of the setting is fine. What I don't want is having it be a driving force of the plot.
- Noncon: I don't currently want unrequested noncon for these requests, but you're welcome to throw in some dubcon. For dubcon, I especially like unequal power dynamics, when one or both parties are under the influence, manipulation, etc.
FANDOM-SPECIFIC PROMPTS
Invisible, Inc.:
- Agent capture! Whether it's a routine mission gone wrong during normal agency operations, or the captured character is one of the people who go MIA during the HQ raid, or maybe it's unrelated to their agency role and pre-canon. What are the protocols and training for agents in this situation?
- I love the drama of the captured agent being presumed dead because of bad intel or just bad odds
- Non-shippy hurt/comfort: yes, normally you're all pretty professional with each other, but these are dire circumstances
- MedGel/induced healing used in interrogation
- ShopCat assists in rescue
- The Rescuer realising they do care about the Prisoner when the Prisoner gets hurt
- How do their augments affect captivity? Maybe Xu keeps escape tools tucked away into the cavity of his prosthetic arm, or Nika's kickass abilities let her capitalise on an opening much more viciously than anyone else, or maybe Decker's daemon-sensing synesthesia comes in handy. Or maybe the corps manage to weaponise their level of augmentation against them
- Xu canonically had a five-year stint in prison during which he paid off a huge financial debt doing redacted secret high-value work of some kind, how does this affect him getting captured again later? Whereas Decker has both apparently been arrested many times before (it's the tutorial!) and used to work corporate security, meaning he was potentially on the other end of interrogation situations. How does this affect how he approaches captivity and the system?
- Anything involving prisoner!Nika feels like a potential character study in waiting. She feels like the kind of person who would never ever break, but is that true? And if it's true, then why? Is it even loyalty at all, or something else? As a former bodyguard and meatshield for hire with no obvious strong ideology, she seems like the best candidate that the corps would want to turn, not just grill for information. How certain are we that Nika wouldn't switch sides if the corps found the right leverage? For that matter, how certain are her fellow agents and boss? Is there a bit of unease about her reintegrating back into the HQ after a prolonged period of captivity, perhaps? What are Nika's relationships with her fellow agents like? Does she form strong bonds with anyone (in particular, the Rescuers?)
- Sth terribly twisted involving getting brainwashed/neurally manipulated/augmented into becoming a terrifyingly effective Enforcer for the cops, unknowingly deployed against her former allies? Fun times!
- Nika is already so twitchy and prone to violence if startled. Now, give her PTSD from captivity!
NEW PROMPTS: If I think of anything beyond what I put in my sign-up, these will go here
- I love the concept of mental torture (e.g. solitary, under- or overstimulation, being put in a fully automated cell and just left to marinate for however long) for someone like Xu, who I headcanon as a very ADHD-coded absent-minded professor who will probably riot if forced to be idle for a full day
- Captured Xu being used as a potential source of information on Incognita in the context of the campaign/story/Incognita's takeover. Hell, would he even be fully against helping in that case? When your boss's AI takes over the world, this might be a situation going beyond loyalty. (Maybe he's willing to help against Incognita but not against Gladstone/the agency?)
- Just put Decker through the wringer, just absolutely turn him into a whumped mess, and have Nika rescue him :3
- It's wild that any agents rescued during the campaign week just have to get straight back to work, ok. Even help out with the actual rescue mission. (It's very important for long-term survival to 100% that level and get all those safes, ok!) Recovery period and rest are a luxury in that situation and they don't get one. It's probably not THAT much better post-campaign, either: they're probably struggling to stay afloat even if corporate attention is off them
- For Xu and Nika I absolutely love this dynamic between them: very different strengths and personalities, complementing each other in the field, a collective menace when together. I would love this reflected in the fic somehow
I love a good "staying strong during the rescue and falling apart the moment its safe" (hehe)
- ART PROMPT: Rescuer agent helping a beaten and bruised rescued agent on the way to the exit
- ART PROMPT: Just the prisoner agent cuffed to a chair/table having a bad time with the Captain, ok
- ART PROMPT: Hurt/comfort on the jet with wound-dressing or treating electrical burns
