Dear Festividder Letter (2025)
Oct. 3rd, 2025 12:02 amHello dear vidder! Here are some optional preferences and visual footage suggestions visual footage that might help.
Neuromancer (Graphic Novel)
The graphic novel has visual footage that the novel does not have and can be found here. Unfortunately the graphic novel only covers part of the novel but you're welcome to incorporate more. There's also lots of fanart to be found on Deviantart (for example). The novel and comic have very strong senses of visual aesthetic in this cyberpunk future and I'd love a video that captures a similar vibe of high-tech dystopia.
Disco Elysium (Video Game)
There's both a lot of official art and a lot of fanart to use for this. I would love something that captures the weird vibe of the game's story, or is kind of melancholy. I love the personal moments you get. You're also welcome to make something about The Pale, or about non-main characters.
Thief (Looking Glass Studios Video Games)
You can find the cutscene videos on Youtube, and older sites like Thief Circle have both official artwork and fanworks uploaded.
Dragonheart [1996 Movie SAFETY]
This is a live-action movie so it has enough footage for a vid, but you're also welcome to incorporate e.g. dragon illustrations into it framed as in-universe art. :)
Parahumans Series - Wildbow
All existing fanvids for this are either animatics or based on fanart. Luckily there's quite a lot of excellent fanart. I recommend starting here and here.
The Fall (Over the Moon Video Games)
Game footage is pretty good for this. There's also a lot of generic or other-canon AI/robot/sci-fi themed art to draw on. :) I nominated the game series but would also be totally happy with something based on just the first game.
The Red Strings Club (Video Game)
Game footage and cyberpunk art would work well here!
Citizen Sleeper (Video Game)
This one is tricky as this game has limited visuals but I'm happy with external generic art for themes of robots, androids, space stations, The Greenway, cyberspace, etc... You can also find one of the official art books here!
Invisible Inc (Video Game)
This one is likewise tricky but between in-game cinematics (available on Youtube), the early access animated trailer, official art, early access and loading screen art, and oodles of fanart, plus generic cyberpunk and AI visuals, there's plenty to use! In-game clips (particularly of dramatic close-ups like agents taking out guards or being overwatched) are perfectly usable too!
